Jo Hoad
Veterinarian & Practice Owner
Jo became the owner of Uralla Vet Clinic in 2014, but she has been providing veterinary care at the practice since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2002. She spent a short stint in the United Kingdom working as a veterinarian, before she returned to Uralla and married a local Walcha boy.
Jo shares her time between the Clinic, running a sheep and cattle property with her husband, running trail ultramarathons and enjoying her two young children while engaging in local community activities. Jo has a strong focus on continuing education, improving her skills and increasing the services she can provide to the Uralla community. As a vet she enjoys being a 'jack of all trades" and loves getting out and about on farms, performing surgeries and meeting all dog and cats in the clinic. Jo is also Johnes and Brucellosis accredited and has undertaken post grad studies in equine dentistry.

This year we have been very excited to welcome a new vet, Dr Olivia Riley, to our team!
Olivia grew up on her family’s cattle stud on the Northern Rivers, and has joined us after graduating from the University of Queensland at the end of last year. Many of you may have had the chance to meet Olivia already as she joined us last year for 2 stints of work placement.
Olivia has a great interest in cattle work, but is also loving the wide variety we see in mixed practice – from dogs and cats, through to chooks and donkeys! We are loving having her here in our team!
